Arborg Ice Dawgs win 2010 - 2011 KJHL Championship (Baldy Northcutt Trophy)!

"The Cancer Game" raises over $1400! (Dec 3)

Peguis Captain #89 Derrick Sinclair, Arborg Captian #17 Bryant Gudmundson, Arborg GM Jerry Maryniuk, Peguis Coach/GM Farron Cochrane, and Terry Fox Foundation Chair Donna Gislason at "The Cancer Game" ceremonial face-off.


The Arborg Ice Dawgs and visiting Peguis Juniors both donned pink laces and pink stick tape to support the cancer research fundraiser-game held in Arborg Friday night. After a close first 2 periods, Arborg ran away with it in the 3rd, winning 8-5 and outshooting the Juniors 50-42.


Arborg's #14 Jordan Anderson and #15 Brett Barkman were the high scorers, each with 2 goals and 2 assists. Peguis #7 Ralph Cochrane scored 2 goals 1 assist and #22 Kelly Prince had 2 goals. "The Cancer Game" raised over $1400 for the Terry Fox Foundation and saw a larger-than-average crowd in attendance supporting the cause and cheering for their favorite team.

New Canadians Night at Arborg Arena (Nov 20)

Despite the cold weather, more than 30 New Canadians took advantage of FREE admission to come out and watch Canada's (real) national sport! Standing at center ice and singing "Oh! Canada" wasw our Mayor, Reeve, Huskie the Mascot, an RCMP officer in traditional uniform, & some of our proud new Canadians. Hockey Canada has commended the Ice Dawgs on this initiative and, with our input and using our event as an example, is looking to implement something similar for the entire country!
